Singa

Singa karaoke powered by MassiveMusic’s licensing and delivery.

Karaoke platforms are evolving beyond traditional cover recordings.

As audiences increasingly expect the same music they hear on streaming services, platforms need licensed access to original recordings along with the infrastructure required to deliver and report that music at scale.

Singa is part of a new generation of karaoke platforms bringing streaming-era music experiences into karaoke environments. Through its consumer app and venue platform, Singa enables people to sing along to their favourite songs at home, in karaoke rooms, and on stages around the world.

Unlike traditional karaoke providers that rely primarily on cover recordings, Singa focuses on delivering karaoke experiences built around original recordings. This approach brings karaoke closer to the way people already experience music through streaming platforms, expanding the range of songs people can perform.

To support this model at global scale, Singa partnered with us to power the licensed catalogue delivery and reporting infrastructure behind the platform. We provide access to a globally cleared catalogue of over 95 million tracks so far that are aligned with Singa’s direct label partnerships, while managing the reporting required by rightsholders.

By handling the licensing and reporting infrastructure behind the scenes, we enable Singa to focus on building engaging karaoke experiences for singers and venues worldwide.

Challenge

Delivering karaoke experiences built around original recordings introduces several operational and licensing challenges.

First, platforms require a globally licensed catalogue of songs cleared for karaoke use across both consumer and commercial environments. Managing these rights across multiple territories and label partners requires reliable licensing infrastructure and consistent catalogue delivery.

Second, karaoke platforms must ensure accurate reporting of music usage to labels. Usage data generated by karaoke services differs from traditional streaming services, making reporting and compliance workflows especially important.

Finally, as Singa expanded its catalogue and partnerships with labels such as Warner, Merlin and Believe, the platform required infrastructure capable of scaling alongside the business while maintaining consistent licensing governance.

Singa needed a partner who could deliver:

  • A globally cleared catalogue aligned with label partnerships

  • API-based music delivery for scalable platform integration

  • Rightsholder usage and financial reporting

  • Infrastructure capable of supporting catalogue expansion and new licensing agreements.

Approach

We support Singa through a combination of catalogue delivery, licensing support by providing pass-through licensing for Believe, and reporting infrastructure designed for digital music platforms.

Through our API music delivery, Singa receives access to a globally cleared catalogue aligned with its label partnerships. This allows the platform to integrate licensed music directly into its karaoke ecosystem while maintaining consistent delivery and metadata alignment.

Alongside delivery, we manage the reporting workflows required by labels, ensuring that music usage across the platform is properly tracked and communicated to rightsholders.

This infrastructure allows Singa to focus on product innovation and user experience, while we handle the operational layer required to run a licensed karaoke platform at scale.

LQIP
Solution

By partnering with us, Singa operates a karaoke platform built on compliant music infrastructure and scalable catalogue delivery.

Access to original recordings through Singa Originals has expanded the platform’s repertoire and reflects a broader shift in how people interact with karaoke. Instead of relying primarily on a fixed set of traditional karaoke classics, singers increasingly perform contemporary hits and a wider range of artists.

Platform insights suggest that the availability of original recordings has contributed to noticeable changes in singing behaviour.

Examples include:

  • General uplift across artists once original recordings are added to the platform. For example, Death Cab for Cutie saw a 90% increase over its general baseline when its Originals were added in February

  • “WAP” becoming the #1 karaoke song in the US and Australia following its release on the platform

  • Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” rising rapidly in karaoke rankings after becoming available as an original track

  • A broader mix of songs appearing in karaoke charts as users gain access to larger catalogues.

These trends highlight how access to licensed original recordings can expand the karaoke experience and encourage greater variety in what people choose to perform.

Results
  • Licensed catalogue infrastructure for modern karaoke: we deliver a globally cleared catalogue aligned with Singa’s label partnerships, enabling the platform to offer original recordings through a fully licensed karaoke experience.

  • Reliable API-driven music delivery: Audio and metadata are delivered directly through MassiveMusic’s API, allowing Singa to integrate licensed music seamlessly into its karaoke ecosystem.

  • Rightsholder reporting to labels: We manage usage and financial reporting to labels, ensuring Singa’s platform remains compliant as it scales globally.

  • Expanded repertoire through original recordings: Access to Singa Originals has broadened the range of songs performed on the platform, with contemporary hits appearing more frequently in karaoke charts. It has also opened the door for artists who were previously unavailable in karaoke to reach singers on the platform, including artists such as Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes and Wet Leg.

  • Infrastructure built for global growth: we provide the delivery, licensing and reporting infrastructure that enables Singa to expand its catalogue and partnerships while maintaining label trust and operational consistency.

Looking Ahead

Karaoke continues to evolve alongside streaming culture, offering new ways for audiences to interact with music beyond passive listening. Platforms like Singa demonstrate how licensed original recordings can expand the karaoke experience while creating new opportunities for artists and fans.

With MassiveMusic handling the licensed catalogue delivery and reporting infrastructure behind the platform, Singa can continue to grow its catalogue and platform capabilities while ensuring every track remains compliant, scalable, and ready for singers around the world.

Together, we’re supporting the continued evolution of karaoke as a modern music experience.

"MassiveMusic stood out far above the competition during our evaluation. They have been incredibly helpful partners as we’ve scaled our karaoke streaming platform."
