MedRhythms is redefining what’s possible in walking rehabilitation. Their FDA-authorised product, InTandem, uses rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) to support stroke recovery. Decades of clinical research have shown RAS’s potential to improve mobility in patients with neurologic injury or disease.
To power their innovative approach, MedRhythms partnered with MassiveMusic (formerly 7digital) to integrate licensed commercial music from Universal Music Group (UMG) into their therapy products in a scalable, compliant, and efficient way.
We’re proud to support MedRhythms in helping patients take meaningful steps forward through music that’s built to heal.

To deliver MedRhythm’s music-based therapy, MedRhythms relies on access to a wide variety of popular commercial music. Licensing at this scale comes with complexity.
It would be impractical for MedRhythms to host the entire UMG catalogue, particularly since much of that music would not meet the rigorous therapeutic criteria that MedRhythms applies to track selection.
MedRhythms operates in a regulated healthcare environment where it applies proprietary processes to select and prepare music for therapeutic impact.
They need smarter access and workflows that enable flexibility, streamlined compliance, and supported clinical use at scale.

Our goal was to simplify the path between music and medicine.
Using our cloud-based API platform, we enabled MedRhythms to audition and analyse UMG’s catalogue in real time without having to host the full catalogue themselves.
This not only reduced overhead but allowed their team to focus on selecting tracks that matched therapeutic needs, using proprietary analysis and metadata enrichment tools to refine their choices and prepare tracks for use.
Once approved, tracks are downloaded for use within the MedRhythms platform: licensed, tagged, and therapy-ready.
