Nike Turkey: This Is Us
Christopher Barett, Luke Taylor
Ahead of 2017 International Women’s Day, Nike released a number of local-market spots for women to convey a larger, global message.
Why are we telling you this?
Because we have worked on two out of three spots.
One of these spots is ‘This Is Us’, a celebration of stories from elite and everyday athletes from across Turkey that encourages women to push beyond personal barriers and the limitations others may place on them.
The challenge was to find a song that would fit the message and convey the feeling of female empowerment that Nike wanted to get across.
With such a power campaign, we knew we needed to find an equally as powerful woman with a song of empowerment to match it.
And who would be a better fit than Queen B?
We ended up working on an edit of ‘Run The World (Girls)’ by Beyoncé, a perfect fit for the concept and moves of the video.
‘This Is Us’ is part of NikeWomen’s bigger campaign, with the tagline ‘Believe in More’. While women around the world often feel constrained by traditional gender roles, athletes in Turkey are committed to pursuing their love for sport and fitness while staying true to themselves.
For the ‘This Is Us’ spot, we took Beyoncé’s song ‘Run The World (Girls)’ and transformed it into something even greater to empower all the beautiful women out there.
