Research Manager

Women in music studio

London

Our London office is looking for an innovative and resourceful Research Manager to join the band. Sound like you?

Job Description

Our team is on the lookout for a Research Manager to join our growing Global Research Strategy Team in London. In this role, you will work alongside a global, cross-functional team including a Senior Data Analyst as well as Account Managers, Creative Strategists and New Business Managers across our global network of offices and parent company Songtradr.

Your ultimate mission is to help brands tap into and optimise the potential impact of music and sound through objective, comprehensive and sound-focussed research and testing.

Besides your day-to-day collaboration with data analysts, clients, partner agencies and the music and brands team, you will also support the Director of Research Strategy in moving the needle on understanding how music impacts brands, businesses and human behaviour through self-initiated research projects such as industry white papers. You love to collaborate with our new business teams to inspire clients about the importance of research and effectiveness, and easily convert new research opportunities into live projects.

As a member of our team, you will have the task of successfully managing client research projects. Just like a composer shaping a symphony, you’ll collaborate closely with our clients, helping to craft the research brief and keeping the project timeline on track. You’ll also make sure that research project budgets, expenses and profitability are correctly adhered to.

Want to know more first? Let us tell you in a nutshell what we’re all about. Focussed on measuring, validating and predicting the impact of music and sound for brands and agencies, we operate at the intersection of science, creativity, technology and craft, empowering brands and agencies with rich audio-focussed data and insights that drive tangible brand results. From neuroscience-based experiments to quick-turn AI-powered music testing, you must be passionate not just about marking work, but also learning how to maximise the true impact music and sound can have on a brand’s creative executions.

Are you someone who loves to take a deep dive into the data, is always eager to learn more and isn’t afraid to step outside your comfort zone? Then we’ll be a perfect fit.

Skills & Requirements

  • You have demonstrated success in a research or insights function, either within a brand, market research firm, creative music agency or music technology company
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University (bonus points if your degree is in a Scientific, Marketing or related field)
  • You have successfully managed client research projects from kick-off to delivery, liaising with clients as well as delivering clear research results and recommendation reports
  • Survey programming and quantitative/qualitative data analysis hold no secrets for you
  • You have some experience in client/account management and a willingness to support our commercial team with converting new research opportunities
  • You like working in creative environments and you understand how to marry science and art in a harmonious way that always champions the creative process
  • Terms like Explicit and Implicit approaches to measurement all make sense to you – don’t ask us, that’s what we need you for 😉
  • You have excellent interpersonal influence skills and are able to maintain trust across a diverse group of individuals
  • You have an intellectual thirst for understanding how humans feel and behave, as well as how music and sound influence the human mind, and the implications of this knowledge for business
  • Organisation is your middle name – you are able to manage a large number of activities and stakeholders simultaneously

Employment

Full time. What do you get in return on top of our financial package? Inspiration, knowledge, and career development. You’ll also be working with an international bunch of remarkable musically-infused individuals.
